Digital Engineering

Digital Engineering

Digital Engineering, incorporating Building Information Modelling (BIM), is becoming a key enabler in the delivery and management of buildings, infrastructure assets and networks.  Digital Engineering provides a collaborative mechanism for stakeholders to work together using digital processes enabling more productive methods of planning, designing, constructing, operating and maintaining assets through their life‐cycle.  Lynnwood’s capabilities in the four key areas of asset management, engineering, procurement and technology planning has enabled the firm to support clients planning for the implementation of Digital Engineering as well as those seeking to engage the market for the provision of digital engineering services.

Based on our experience in delivering Digital Engineering services for key clients, including Transport for New South Wales, Lynnwood provided input to the Federal Government’s Standing Committee on Infrastructure, Transport and Cities inquiry held in 2015 into ‘the role of smart ICT in the design and planning of infrastructure’ from the small business sector perspective.  The Smart ICT Report, including Lynnwood’s contributions, can be found at the following link:

Digital Engineering Implementation Plan

Digital Engineering Framework

Lynnwood developed an implementation plan for the Projects Division of Transport for NSW (TfNSW) to adopt digital engineering (including Building Information Modelling) for all TfNSW infrastructure projects managed by the Projects Division.

The plan included estimates of implementation cost, plus the information required to submit a formal business case.
Key staff of Lynnwood Consulting is assisting TfNSW to develop a Digital Engineering Framework for Infrastructure projects across the Transport Cluster.

The project involved the development of the various DE Framework documents (deliverables), and also provided facilitation and coordination support at the various stakeholder engagement events, including workshops.
